Instructions for changing the resolution on your monitor display for Windows 95 or higher.

Method 1.

1. On an open area of your screen desktop not occupied by any program or icon, click the right mouse button. (If your screen is filled by a program and you have no open area go to Method 2.)
2. Left click "Properties" on the menu that appears. That will bring up your Display Properties window.
3. Left click the tab at the top of the Display Properties window labeled "Settings".
4. You will see a slider bar indicating your current screen area (Write down or remember your current setting incase you want to set the resolution back to its original setting).
5. Click and hold the left mouse button on the slider and move the slider to the right toward the word "More". The new resolution will appear below the slider. Set the resolution to "1024 by 768" or higher then release the mouse button.
6. After you have set the desired resolution left click the apply button at the bottom. You may get a message asking if you want to restart, answer no. You may also get a message asking if you want to keep the new setting, answer yes. Then click "OK" to close the Display Properties window.

Note: Some older monitors may not be able to display "1024 by 768 resolution.

Method 2.

1. With the left mouse button click the "Start" button on the lower left of the screen on the task bar.
2. Move the mouse up to "Settings" then over to the right and click on "Control Panel". That will bring up the "Control Panel" window.
3. Double click the Display icon. That will bring up your Display Properties window.
4. Left click the tab at the top of the Display Properties window labeled "Settings".
5. You will see a slider bar indicating your current screen area (Write down or remember your current setting incase you want to set the resolution back to its original setting).
6. Click and hold the left mouse button on the slider and move the slider to the right toward the word "More". The new resolution will appear below the slider. Set the resolution to "1024 by 768" or higher then release the mouse button.
7. After you have set the desired resolution left click the apply button at the bottom. You may get a message asking if you want to restart, answer no. You may also get a message asking if you want to keep the new setting, answer yes. Then click "OK" to close the Display Properties window.

Note: Some older monitors may not be able to display "1024 by 768 resolution.

To reset to the original resolution follow the same method you used and move the slider to the original setting.
